It is our sad duty to announce the passing of Past District Deputy Alexander ‘Alex’ Coriaty of Willimantic Lodge No. 1311. Alex passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
One of Alex’s longtime passions was being a member of the Elks. He served in many capacities as a member of Willimantic Lodge. He ultimately served there as Exalted Ruler and was a past Past District Deputy from the East District No. 1560. Alex also served on many committees with the Connecticut Elks Association.
Calling hours will be held at Potter Funeral Home in Willimantic on Thursday, July 23 from 5–8 pm. Willimantic Lodge Officers and PERs will be meeting at 6:30 pm to attend the wake. Attire will be a Black Tuxedo for Lodge Officers and PERs.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church in Willimantic on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:00 am. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the Willimantic Elks Lodge in the lower-level banquet hall. The Elks ritual service will be done at 12:30 pm. Dignitaries who wish to attend the service and Celebration of Life are encouraged to do so. Dignitaries, if you would like, please wear the Summer Formal (White Tuxedo Jacket). The PDDs from Lodge 1311 will be doing the ritual and will be in Summer Formal (White Tuxedo Jacket). All other PER’s and Officers should be in black tux or business attire.
