Join the Dictionary Project in Your Lodge
Elks joined this movement in 2004 nationwide have donated more than 1.2 million dictionaries to third-grade students and their teachers as sponsors of The Dictionary Project over the last 6 years. There are 600 lodges that actively participate in the program. To see if your nearest lodge participates in this program, find a lodge near you.
There are two different sample kits available from The Dictionary Project. Each sample kit contains five books and can be obtained for $15. One kit provides all five of the American English language dictionaries. The other kit contains a dictionary and thesaurus usage guide, Spanish to English dictionary, an English to Spanish dictionary, atlas and thesaurus.

The Antlers Are Back!
The newest program in Elkdom is an old one! Yes, it is the Junior Elks Program called “the Antlers.” It is a chance for young people in our communities to get involved with the Elks in the many service-related projects our Lodges sponsor.

Grand Lodge Youth Programs
The Elks Youth Activity Committee sponsors various programs from local lodges to more propular programs at national level.
Scholarships - Every year Elks National Foundation gives out $3.65 million in college scholarships for high school seniors.
Soccer Shoot - A program under the Youth Activities Committee, the Elks Soccer Shoot Program is intended for toddlers to teenagers.
Junior Golf Program - A program designed young people with a desire to play golf and want to be the next Tiger Woods or Natalie Gulbis.
Dictionary Project - This effort has been bringing nearly 10 million dictionaries to schools and students over the past 15 years.
Antlers - A program for young people between 12 and up to 21, the Junior Elks are part of the Antlers.
Youth Recognition - A program designed to recognize outstanding young men and women for achievements in their school and community.
